Austrian composer Alma Schindler (1879-1964) composed Lieder and instrumental works as well as beginning an opera before marrying Gustav Mahler in 1902. He resisted her continuing in this area, insisting that he be the composer and she be his support. After his death, she had an affair with the painter Oskar Kokoschka and married twice, first to the architect Walter Gropius and then to the writer Franz Werfel.- Category ID : 24817
