Ferdinando Maria Meinrado Francesco Pascale Rosario Carulli (1770-1841) was born in Naples, Italy and moved to Paris, France in 1808. Trained as a cellist, he taught himself guitar, became a virtuoso performer, and wrote over 300 pieces for the instrument.
