English Modern period composer Arthur Benjamin (1893-1960) was born in Australia but studied at the Royal College of Music and spent most of his life in England. One of his most popular pieces is the Jamaican Rumba of 1938. He also wrote the scores for over a dozen movies between 1934 and 1958. Included were The Scarlet Pimpernel and The Return of the Scarlet Pimpernel, as well as two versions of The Man Who Knew too Much and The Naked Earth.- Category ID : 23876
