Auric, Georges Websites

French twentieth century composer Georges Auric (1899-1983) was the youngest member of Les Six with Durey, Honegger, Milhaud, Tailleferre, and Poulenc. First acclaim came with his music for Les fâcheux (The Bores), a ballet based on Molière. He scored several films for French poet Jean Cocteau, including La belle et la bête (Beauty and the Beast) and Orphée (Orpheus).
